Slipping, Sliding and Art Appreciation

It’s been slate grey skies here for a few days, so I was tempted out by a brief period of sunshine today. But given the amount of rain recently, it was the mountain bike that emerged from the shed.

RaceAtSpa Challenge video

Video clip of the first few laps of the RaceAtSpa One Hour Challenge, taken from the pitwall.

I’m fairly sure that the early part of the video shows the entire field.

I do like the 3-wheeling TVRs around the new “bus-stop” corner onto the pit straight!

Even this early in the race, you can see some of the various battles developing – the Radical vs various TVRs, the production Elises and the MG Midgets.

Sorry there’s not more video, but there were other things to do after this!

Spa – WOW!

What an amazing place the Spa-Francochamps race circuit is! You don’t get the scale of the place, or the gradients, when you see it on TV, even from in-car footage.

A lap is just over 7km

Off to Spa!

I’m off to the races this weekend – the race-at-spa race at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium to be precise.

Memories…

I recently read an account of another cyclist falling off and it just brought back memories – albeit embarassing ones!

Now THAT was steep!

I watched the Vuelta “Queen Stage” at the weekend on ITV4 – the stage to the top of the Angliru. Now that is a steep road!
